The team is made up of studios in England, N Ireland and Mongolia and brings together a dedicated, highly experienced team of professionals with a wide range of skills and varying sector experience across different cultures.I joined Gradon in April 2014 as an Architect and Urban Designer and have helped the practice to expand from a single office to a network of three global bases. As such I very quickly became an integral part of the team and within twelve months was promoted to the position of Associate. With a keen eye for interesting and emerging design I have been involved in a number of projects within varying sectors. Delivering comprehensive design solutions to long standing and new clients alike; that respond well to the various site complexities and challenging constraints. Acting as project lead on a number of differing design developments has offered me the opportunity to apply my comprehensive and diverse architectural knowledge to a wide range of schemes within the office. These range from large urban design masterplans such as a 350 home development in Sedgefield, County Durham with supporting community and retail buildings; to a new District Energy Scheme for Gateshead council. As an approachable and courteous professional I have built strong relationships with clients, contractors and design team consultants alike. I joined as part of the business development team in February 2012, identifying potential design opportunities with various parties to generate activity and income on opportunist sites. This has given me a fantastic opportunity to be involved in a large number of schemes at a front end level, dealing directly with the client to help generate a proposal that caters to all of their needs. Projects have ranged from concept designs for the re-use of hospital land at Bristol, Leicester and Southampton hospital trusts, and various concept designs for vacant sites within the borough of Barnet to help generate revenue. To concept schemes for sites within the borough of Conwy Council to help generate income for the council as well as a new central hub and masterplanning a new industrial hub and port facility at the former Swan Hunter site on Tyneside. This role has since progressed into the delivery side of the Capita business. Allowing me the opportunity to deliver a number of schemes previously identified, as well as new projects such as the new Construction Centre for York College. Show less

I have also had the opportunity to work with many different teams across the company meaning that I have developed excellent communication skills and the ability to manage my time effectively.I joined Atkins after my part II degree and feel that this varying experience has been invaluable during my development as an Architect. Crucial to this has been my involvement with Sport Central, a new sport facility for Northumbria University. I was involved with the scheme from concept to construction which has helped me to develop excellent client interaction skills. I was heavily involved in helping the client to create a robust design that fitted all of their needs and requirements.I also have a keen interest in sustainability within the built environment and was given the opportunity to develop my knowledge of “green” architecture when working on Northwood Primary School, a carbon natural School in Darlington. Again I was given the chance to work as part of the design team from concept to construction, an opportunity that has greatly increased my technical knowledge of sustainable design. I was primarily involved in the technical development of the project, producing drawing packages and managing others to ensure that the complex design successfully included all of the sustainable elements crucial to completing a carbon neutral building; such as the green roof, timber frame and bio-mass boiler. Designed using “Urban Village” theories; Highfields offers a sense of place and region-ality which is often lacking from most housing developments. A sizeable extension to the existing village of Littleport, the Highfield scheme required careful masterplanning so to connect the new development with the existing village and create a sustainable living environment for both the old and new residents. As part of the architectural team I undertook vari¬ous masterplanning, design and technological responsibilities. Had direct dealing with the client and helped them to produce successful schemes that meet their requirement and the requirements of the planning authority. Show less
