As Membership Services Manager my teams primarily consist of advocacy, student engagement, and campaigning and policy work. I support the full time elected representatives to achieve their aims, and work on the organisational strategic direction.

The lead position in representation for the 18,000 students at the University of Chester. I was elected in 2012 and re-elected again in 2013 for a second term. Along with the 3 Vice-Presidents it is our role to be the voice of the students of our institution on various high-level committees within the university, to run campaigns for students and the local community - e.g. sexual health, veg-out, and community clean ups. This role also includes creating community links in Chester and Warrington (where we have our satellite campus) I am active in local residents meetings and also local campaigns, e.g. Sitting on the board for Chester Pride.This role is hugely satisfying, from representing a student on a panel where they will possibly loose their place at university, to running Varsity- our annual sporting competition against Manchester Metropolitan Students' Union- every day is different and varied. I also represent Chester at NUS National Conference where the national motions for the year are debated and finalised, and national positions are elected. From this role I have also been elected onto the NUSSL (NUS Services Ltd) National board of directors for the year 2013/14 as one of 5 student directors for the company.
