Specifically, she has increased external engagement through her use of social media in marketing and has vastly increased the use of Special Collections in teaching practices throughout the university. I have observed her teaching and it is evident she cares about the students and is incredibly knowledgeable about her subject. Katie is passionate about self-development, particularly related to developing her teaching so she can support students to use the collections in their assignments. I have seen her demonstrate this through her working towards and gaining Advance HE Associate Fellow accreditation, regular CILIP Chartership reaccreditations and, more recently, her Registration with the Archives and Records Association.
