The Blessing Board is a non-profit, Christian organization that accepts donated furniture and household goods from the greater Pittsburgh area and in turn donates these items to people in need at no cost to them. The Blessing Board is a volunteer-driven organization. 95% of everything that is done at TBB is done by a volunteer. We have locations in Oakmont and McKeesport Pennsylvania. Each month we have an average of 150 individual volunteers serving at our two locations. We have individuals, corporate groups, church groups, students and community members serving with us. As the Volunteer Coordinator my role involves:- Recruiting new volunteers- Recruiting corporate groups and church groups to serve- Maintaining adequate volunteer coverage for all job roles- Training & education of current volunteer base- Writing volunteer job descriptions and procedures- Providing orientation for new volunteers- Managing our Volunteer Management Software - Adding opportunities to our public Volunteer Calendar - Writing a weekly newsletter and periodic blog posts- Posting to social media- Hosting recruiting events- Presenting and speaking in the community about The Blessing BoardFor more information about volunteering at The Blessing Board email me at volunteer@theblessingboard.org
