I focus my practice on advising and defending product manufacturers throughout the product life cycle, navigating every stage of litigation while strategizing to protect your business and reduce risk. In my recent work as national counsel for large medical device manufacturer, I successfully co-managed a portfolio of 100+ unfiled claims and filed cases in state and federal courts across the county related to multiple medical device recalls and ensured a consistent and strategic approach across the portfolio. In this role, I developed multiple tools to best serve the client’s needs, including a risk evaluator to inform valuation determinations, a rolling activity chart to manage competing deadlines, forecast and track expenses, predict settlements, and catalogue outcomes, and regular update bulletins to disseminate large volumes of information to the client in an easily digestible format to support timely and strategic legal and business decisions. I pride myself on my superb organizational skills and attention to detail, and my commitment to effective case management and client satisfaction. I have extensive experience managing the fact and expert discovery phases of litigation, taking and defending fact witness, health care provider, 30(b)(6), and expert depositions, and have worked closely with technical, medical, and human factors experts. Clients appreciate my strategic approach to matters, and I work to negotiate early, reasonable settlement offers when possible and to aggressively defend each action when not. At Maslon, I co-chair the firm’s Litigation practice group and Tort & Product Liability subgroup, and also serve on the firm’s Recruiting committee. Prior to joining Maslon in 2012, I worked at a private law firm in Texas where I represented clients in a variety of complex litigation matters, including business torts and breach of contract disputes.
