AMFT #136811I am a recent MA recipient from the Clinical Counseling program at Point Loma Nazarene University seeking experience and practice as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist in the mental health field. I received my BS in Psychology from UCSD and since graduation in 2019, have continued working in the mental health field. I obtained experience ranging from a PHP/IOP private mental health facility to a locked, residential facility for the gravely disabled and conserved. I recently completed my pre-graduate MFT internship at UPAC New Leaf Recovery Center South, an adult outpatient dual diagnostic center for Medi-Cal funded clients across the South Bay of San Diego.My dream populations to work with include depressed adults struggling with self-image, worth, concept, and esteem, LGBTQIA2S+ individuals and couples, and low-SES clients who need extra compassion, understanding, and advocacy. Though just beginning my journey into finding my theory of choice, I have become very familiar with Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I would like to learn more about Internal Family Systems, and have a goal of becoming an AASECT certified sex therapist and educator.
