About Katie Mckissick
A high school biology teacher turned science communicator, I started a blog and webcomic called “Beatrice the Biologist,” a passion project with the goal of cultivating curiosity and appreciation for science and nature. This creative outlet served as a training ground to hone my skills in writing, illustration, graphic design, animation, and video production. This portfolio led to opportunities to join digital teams at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, and The Kavli Foundation.I'm also a published author. My most recent book, "Everyday Amazing: Fascinating Facts about the Science That Surrounds Us" (Simon & Schuster, 2019), is filled with uplifting musings on the science we experience daily but usually take for granted.
Listed skills include Science, Editing, Publishing, Teaching, and 26 others.
