I love to lead teams. I understand that the point of business is to make money. The question is how do you do this in a way that centers the customers and the employees? Whether I am leading a team of 40 or 500+ people, I believe the key to leading successful teams is to put team members into situations where they can use their unique skills and talents. When you center this ideology it results in an atmosphere that fosters employee connection and growth. Engaged employees translate into positive customer experiences that in return drives customers to spend money. I have operated this way my entire career and I have been successful both in making money and in creating successful teams. This is what I do. I love the motto, “Be easy to work with.” Whether you are working on a team or for a customer, there is a simplicity in being “easy to work with.” I have lived by this motto and have been successful in its simple implementation. I am an engineer by education and the most elegant solutions I find are the simple ones. Simple matters because simple scales. I have used these mottos throughout my career and I find them to be successful over and over again. I am also a technologist. I started my career as a developer and learned technology through hands on experience. But what really drives me is being able to bridge business and technology. I understand business, and how to creatively and pragmatically apply technology to drive business value. I am also a mother to four amazing children. You might find me playing tennis, gardening, hiking, walking my Golden Retriever, playing euchre, or cheering on my Chicago Cubs.
