Hey there! I'm a data scientist with a rather unconventional career journey. I've always had a love for learning languages, which led me to serve in the Marine Corps as an Arabic Cryptologic Linguist. Later, I pursued a Master of Social Work degree at UW Madison, which eventually brought me to Evident Change as a researcher. It was at Evident Change that I discovered my passion for human languages translated seamlessly into a skillset for mastering computer languages. I learned R first, which I now consider my "native language," but I'm also fluent in SQL, proficient in Python, and have dabbled in various other languages and tools (Java, Julia, Hive, Pig, Hadoop, Spark, Scala, etc.). When I'm not working, I'm pursuing my Master of Science in Data Science degree.Throughout my career, I've collaborated with a diverse range of stakeholders – from probation officers and social workers to CEOs – and I truly put my MSW to good use every day! I like to say that I'm a pro at wrangling data and people alike. With more than 6 years of experience in data science, project management, and people management, I'm passionate about helping organizations make data-driven decisions and fostering positive client relationships.Currently, I'm putting my interpersonal and analytical skills to good use as a Senior Data Analyst at Elastic, and continuing to learn new things about the ever-changing world of data science.
