When I first chose to pursue Strategic Communications as my degree, it was with the idea in mind to eventually end up at non-profits. Using different forms of communication and spreading awareness through education, all while helping out others is what drew me to the idea of making a career out of that.Since graduating, I’ve been fortunate enough to intern at two different non-profits where I’ve gotten the opportunity to really understand what happens behind the scenes. Through those internships, I was able to exercise my creative side by creating marketing and social media content, build relationships with stakeholders, plan events, and learn the importance of SEO.While attending school and working my way through internships, I was also slinging craft beer and serving up some good grub. Working in the serving industry was my jam. I loved everything about it: the fast-paced environment, multi-tasking, figuring out ways to work most efficiently, the constant human interaction, and getting to meet all walks of life. So instantly falling in love with the recruiting world when I became a Talent Acquisition Screener with Vail Resorts made total sense. I get the best of both worlds: meeting people through a fast-paced environment, while also helping them. I love learning about others, discovering their passions and strengths, and getting to match them with a company’s needs.
