Conducted Karst-related geophysical surveys intended for groundwater protection and construction consulting.Preformed rigorous fieldwork under extreme conditions, including 100 degree heat.

Worked on the microbial anaerobic oxidation of methane from abandoned PA oil wells, and examined these microbes as an analog for martian life. Wrote a senior thesis summarizing these findings.

The Macalady Lab is a geomicrobiology lab that looks to understand microbes and microbial communities in their broader context. Currently, I am working on an acid mine drainage project with Rodger Orts (Ph.D. student) and Maya Fulton (undergrad).

In the summer of 2022, I worked in the Mustard Lab characterizing the Fundamental Bending Vibration of molecular water’s spectral signature around 6.1 microns. This band has applications for identifying molecular water on airless bodies.

In the summer of 2021, I participated in an astrobiology REU at Northern Arizona University. There, I examined biological soil crusts’ gas exchange and spectral signatures. The goal of the project was to find a relationship between the two sets of measurements so hopefully, future missions that take spectra of exoplanets can look for, and possibly find, the same patterns we attributed to life on Earth.

I wrote, designed, and facilitated lessons for an arts summer camp. As well as taught Improv, Fitness, Art, and 3D Printing Design to Kindergarten through 8th graders.
