Currently working within the 3-4 year age group with a lead role in Sustainable Futures and Farming. Previous lead roles include, social media, online learning, seesaw and supporting newly qualified teachers. My role within the classroom is to observe, plan and promote a high quality play based programme, whilst following the Creative Curriculum. To work in partnership with parents offering a caring, safe and nurturing environment for their children to thrive and better prepare them for school.

Little Stream follows a unique curriculum of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths. Starting as an FS1 Teacher I was soon promoted to Head Teacher. My role was to oversee the day to day running of the Nursery, ensuring a continuity of the STREAM Curriculum throughout the Nursery, supporting and managing all staff, networking and managing events, delivering training and working in partnership with Parents.

A.C.S implements the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. Here I worked as a Homeroom Teacher in the Pre-K 3 (FS1) Class, delivering a child centred play based programme, that was authentic, relevant and an inquiry based learning experience for children. Implemented in a safe, caring and nurturing environment that celebrated diversity and the coming together of students from many different cultures.

Whilst working at Starfish Lane Kids Nursery I was soon promoted from FS1 Teacher to Class Leader Coordinator and later Assistant Manager. As Assistant Manager my role was to support the Manager in the day to day running of the Nursery, registrations, fees, administration, managing reception, children and parents, promoting the nursery and overseeing tours. My role as Class Leader Coordinator was to support, advise, assist and train new teachers and assistants within all branches. Whilst also, organising and overseeing special events within the nursery and running regular planning meetings to ensure a high quality approach to play was maintained in all classrooms. Delivering training during staff development days such as role play and the importance of imaginative play.

Here I worked as an FS1 Class teacher and Class Leader Coordinator. My role was to plan, observe, record and prepare each child for their next phase of their education through the Early Years Learning Framework, Australian Curriculum, whilst also introducing the children to letter sounds using the Jolly Phonics Programme.

Term time Nursery Nurse working within Toddler's Class for three years and the 2-3 year age group for the last year before moving to Doha, Qatar.My role was to follow The Early Years Foundation Stage to identify and encourage the Children's stages of development through observation and planning of activities. During the start of the Academic year, Thomas Danby Nursery would have a high intake of new children, not only to the nursery but also to new to the UK. It was my responsibility to initiate visits, assist families in settling their child into the Nursery routine and provide a stimulating, fun and inviting learning environment for the children.

Whilst working as a Base Store Manager I volunteered in my own time to work with the buying team, to bring a stores perspective and ideas of new products. I was also chosen to be part of a working group that was in partnership with the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (N.S.P.C.C.) to set up a child safety policy for all Early Learning Centre Stores.

My responsibility was to organise the Toy library and network with various play and child care settings offering and delivering a range of resources within the Bradford District particularly settings working within the under privileged areas and with not much funding.

During my time at Bradford Area Play Association I worked within the team to provide the annual 'National Play Day Event'. This is a national event that campaigns for the importance of play in a child’s life. We worked with local charities, sponsors and The Bradford District Council to provide a fun filled day for all. At a later date and whilst working as a store assistant, I used my experience and contacts to network with other companies, whilst also linking my Part time position at the ELC store with Bradford Area Play Association. I attended meetings in my spare time, to incorporate ELC into the National Play day Event. This was a success and my involvement helped to support the event and also drive new playgroup sales into store.

Working as a Playworker with children from the age 4 to 16 years, planning fun and innovative activities with the children over the course of the summer vacation and After School Club. This also included planning and overseeing field trips appropriate to the age of the children.

Whilst working as an N.H.S Community Nursery Nurse within the Positive Parenting Team, I developed the ability to adapt to change by quickly responding to new situations and work within a changing atmosphere. I developed my role with the Toy Library by initiating ideas to do 'Drop In' sessions, planning and implementing fun courses on Play for the Parents and Soft Play sessions for the children. I approached each family individually, looking at the needs of the child concerned and built up a caseload of first time parents and families needing extra support. Through referral and networking with other agencies such as Social Services, Speech and Language Therapists, Health Visiting teams and Educational sectors we worked in partnership to meet the individual needs of children and their families. Through this role I was often asked to give short talks about my role and the benefits to play to new Parents. I was also asked to visit the college I qualified in and provide a lesson to the students about my role in the community and the benefits to the families and children, this was a huge success that lead me to work with and offer courses on play to first time 'Teenage Mums'.

Working alongside the Governors and Principle of Thames Primary School, to set up a thriving Preschool for 3-4 year olds alongside the Supervisor. My role was to plan, obeserve and promote a child based curriculum throughout the centre, develop policies following the requirements of Social Services, initiate visits to new and potential parents, promote the Preschool in the Community and develop a settling in plan for each child into the daily routine.

Layton Hill Nursery follows the Highscope Curriculum. It was my responsibility to promote the High Scope theory into practice. High Scope encourages children to be independent learners by planning, implementing and evaluating their own play. I was also responsible for coordinating Music and Movement activities for all age groups within the setting.
