Hi! My name is Katri, it's good to see you here!I can remember my first contact with digital media as if it was yesterday.It was the legendary operating system called Windows 95.To be more accurate, it was this very old, ugly and loud computer with Windows 95 that sparked in me the first light of passion towards all manners of media devices. In the beginning of 2000's, I was a child when I first lay my hands on that ugly, old and loud computer in my childhood home - and as I pressed that power button, heard the ticking sound of the computer slowly waking up and heard the beloved Windows opening theme from the broken and wretched MIDI speakers, I knew there was no going back.Ever since that moment I have been endlessly fascinated by computers, gaming consoles, video games, smart phones and all the possibilities that they have created for us in terms of communication and entertainment. Of course, a bit later inventions and innovations such as social media platforms, virtual reality and augmented reality picked my interest - so much that after graduating high school I found myself studying media science at the University of Lapland, learning about creating multimedia, designing video games and sounds, writing scripts for movies... in short, giving birth to new exciting digital worlds.Those studies have come to an end, and I am proud to say that I am a Master of Arts based in Rovaniemi, Lapland. I majored in media science and studied in the program of audiovisual mediaculture, which has given me the opportunity to study and work in several assignments in different fields of media, such as video game and sound design, scriptwriting, film producing and directing and photography. I also have experience in social media content creation that often includes photography, writing, managing and analysing the data that social media content produces.Working together towards a common goal to better my community's well-being is also close to my heart, and thus I gathered a vast amount of volunteer experience in different student associations during my studies. Digital Communications Manager
I worked as digital communications manager for two companies that serve and help local entrepreneurs and consumers, Likiliike Rovaniemi and Rovaniemen Yrittäjät ry.
