Served 20 years in the US Air Force as a Space Operator and Aerospace Control and Warnings Systems Operator. 13 years in the following Space Systems: GPS, DSP, Missile Warning, and Space Surveillance Systems. Also did seven years as an Aerospace Control & Warning Systems Operator (Weapons Tech) in Mobile TAC units.After retiring in Apr of 1999 I started working as contractor for Motorola as a Mission Planner and Ground System Monitor Operator on the Iridium Satellite System. When the threat of Bankruptcy was imminent on the Iridium system I was retained as a Mission Planner in case we would have to deorbit the constellation. Thankfully, Boeing acquired the O&M portion of the contract from Motorola. I got the opportunity to relocate to CO with Boeing to work GPS again in Apr 2002 as an Operations Analyst supporting the On-Call Analysts shops in the 2 SOPS. After that I was working as a Customer Training/Instructional Designer on the Boeing GPS IIF Satellite contract for the Air Force Customer. I have also performed as Focal of a major LADO Software User Manual upgrade project that ended on 31 Jan 11. Due to defense budget cuts, I was laid off from Boeing on 22 Mar 11.I worked on the NASA TDRS program for four years. When I left in Sep of 2016, I was dual certified as a NASA TDRS Space Network Scheduler and Communications Services Controller at White Sands Complex, Las Cruces NM.I also worked on Ft Bliss in El Paso TX as Senior Military Analyst on the SOSE&I Contract for Scientific Research Corporation. Relocated to Hendersonville TN and became a licensed Health and Life Insurance Agent. I entered the USAF on 15 Nov 78 and retired on 1 Apr 99. While on active duty my experience for the first 7 years was in mobile TAC as a Surveillance Operator in the 729 TCS at MacDill AFB FL. Next I performed as a Weapons Control Tech for the 626 Tactical Control Flight (Forward Air Control Post) in Bremerhaven Germany. Also served 15 months at Shaw AFB SC as a member of 9AF DOY. My job at Shaw was to keep track of the daily sorties flown in the 507 Wing and also assisted at major exercises in the 9Th AF AFFOR. The last Air Defense assignment was in the Philippines where I served as Weapons Control Tech & Supervisor at the 848 ACWS, a Ground Control Intercept site. In 1987 our career field split between TAC and AF Space Command, and I chose to stay on the Space side of the house. The majority of my Air Force career was spent in Space Command. I have experience as a Space Surveillance Operator and Space Object Identification operator from the 17 SURS (San Miguel RP) and was also a member of the Stan/Eval team and a Battle Staff Member. I have experience as a Data Systems Supervisor at the 2SWS (Buckley Air Force Base) and also was selected to be the first enlisted Flight Commander of an all enlisted crew to launch GPS Satellites from the 1 SOPS (Schriever AFB). From the 1 SOPS I was selected to join the 50 OG Stan/Eval team and also performed as a member of the Exercise Evaluation Team and as an Evaluator for the Guardian Challenge Competition. From CO I went to the 13 SWS at Clear AFB AK to be a Missile Warning Crew Chief, Detection Radar Operator and the NCOIC of the Stan/Eval Office. I retired from the 21 Ops Group Standardization/Evaluation Office as an evaluator for the 21 SW Space Surveillance and Missile Warning units around the world. Performed as an Exercise Evaluation Team Member and Evaluator for the Guardian Challenge Competition for 21 Space Wing.
