Hi, I'm Katy! I spent over 6 years in the classroom with grades K-12 teaching ESL & Spanish. During that time, I spent many hours outlining, designing, developing and delivering curriculum tailored to my students' needs. I continue to tutor high school students online and enjoy being able to meet their instructional needs in a one-on-one virtual setting. I am a creative educator who values innovation, efficiency and quality education for everyone. I believe in the power of online instruction to help individuals succeed at their educational and professional goals. I firmly believe that human brains love to learn, and learning doesn't have to be boring. As a teacher, I always strived to provide the best learning experiences for my students, but became frustrated with the lack of time allotted to teachers in order to thoughtfully design and develop lessons. I am currently studying instructional design in-depth in order to transition to a career where my strengths can benefit others. In my studies I have become knowledgeable about e-learning, the Kirkpatrick evaluation model, ADDIE & SAM, Gagne's 9 events of instruction, Mayer's principles of multimedia learning and much more.
