I support the systems in use at our parliamentary library. These systems support activities such as reference services, cataloguing and classification, collection development, records management and online retrieval.

I provide technical services to the Library team at the Parliament Buildings. A large part of my role involved QA work (quality assurance). I took a key role in verifying and updating our test documentation for the in-house software. Defects were managed in Bugzilla. Types of tests I typically performed included smoke / sanity, system, functional, integration, regression, load, stress, performance, data integrity, acceptance, usability, install / uninstall. For the outbound products, I regularly performed log analysis, working with clients to verify maintenance work needed. I wrote test cases based off of the log files and amendments in the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) regulations, running them in the in-house test automation tools. As a Speech and Language Analyst, I wrote Python scripts to normalize and transcribe into phonetic script large English text files. I also contributed to projects that involved analyzing a speech database for phonetic gaps. In my work with a new female voice talent, I designed and performed tests to identify effective phrases to elicit the sounds needed to build the female voice database.
