I am currently a Content Creator and co-host of the Beyond the Barn podcast with Standlee Premium Western Forage and the Owner/Photographer at Katy Starr Photography. I graduated with two Bachelor's of Science degrees in Agribusiness and Animal Science with a Production option. My goal is to further the agriculture industry as best as I can with a focus on the cattle industry. Removal from the rural lifestyle has disengaged consumer understanding of what it takes and what it means to raise livestock for consumption, but even more so to do that compassionately. With the agriculture community light years behind many other industries in terms of public communications and transparency, we're now playing catch-up as the opposition seemingly has a clear path to the top in "educating" the public. Our ability to accept and engage with new technologies and ways of communication is imperative to the survival of the agriculture industry, ranching and farming alike. If I can connect with others through the commonalities of being a mom and photographer, a path will be paved for transparent and honest, but most importantly true, conversations about agriculture. As a portrait photographer, providing beautiful images is just the tip of the iceberg. Immersing them in an unparalleled experience that will last a lifetime is the lifeblood of my business. I strive to awaken confidence in every photography client I serve, some unknowing that such a part of them even exists. Through my western lifestyle imagery, this connects my rural roots to my love of creating and educating. It is my desire to make every new experience better than how it came to me, to be an inspiration for every new person I meet and leave a blazed trail for those who follow behind me. Life is about treasuring those you have, taking the bull by the horns with new opportunities and not being afraid to fail. Every step taken offers new possibilities to become better and to give more. Why exist if we can't make a difference and serve in the most positive way imaginable?

Owner/PhotographerKaty Starr Photography Oct 2013 - PresentMagic Valley Area In IdahoKaty Starr Photography is a local Southern Idaho business, specializing in Senior and Family portraits and Western Lifestyle photography, utilizing natural light and featuring Idaho's magnificent landscapes for the most scenic backdrops. Beyond beautiful images, Katy Starr Photography offers a unique and empowering experience for each session, focusing specifically on the quality of client experience. A picture speaks a thousand words. Imagery does something for the mind that words often can’t. It can move our soul, like the most virtuous sounds leaving the strings of an acoustic guitar. Pictures open a door to past memories, that can bring a smile to your face or a tear to your eye. When you think about having pictures taken of your senior, your family or capturing moments of your western way of life, think about how that will make you feel twenty years from now. You’ll want to look back with the best flood of emotions, reminding you of your most cherished things in life, not tangible things, but the people, fleeting moments, stopping time in its tracks. A session’s not worth doing if it doesn’t make you feel confident, loved and full of life.katy@katystarrphotography.comwww.KatyStarrPhotography.comwww.facebook.com/KatyStarrPhotographyIdahowww.instagram.com/KatyStarrPhotography
