Identity Project ManagerInverclyde Community Development Trust May 2011 - Jan 2023Inverclyde Community Development TrustIdentity Project ManagerWorking as part of a Funding Management Team I was given the roleof Development Co-ordinator to research and assess contentavailability for a Heritage Lottery Funded Programme I wasinstrumental in the securing of the funding.Inverclyde CommunityDevelopment Trust secured £155,000 from Heritage Lottery to deliveran activites based project on Immigration to Inverclyde over 200years.My role as Manager was to supervise and direct a staff team of 10employees some of whom where placed on the Futures JobWorkplacement Programme. I was responcible for their trainingwhich I sourced from both Internal and External agencies, the trainingenhanced their opportunities and developed good work practice andaccredited training.I engaged with the wider community within Inverclyde and recruited1volunteers to drive forward the Identity Programme and offeredvolunteers training to produce a website and a book, the volunteersundertook new challenges to themselves which built confidence andtheir skills to sustain the Identity Website.I co-ordinated the programme of activity which spanned 26 localschools and a variety of community groups throughout Inverclyde The major achievements of the Identity Project was an onsitedrama in the iconic Sugar Shed Warehouses I co-ordinated theprocess through to securing the venue, applying for building controllicenses, working with Health and Safety officer and problem solvingall safety issues, I chaired the strategy meetings with both internaland external agencies setting the programme of delivery and coordinatingdiaries, staff, volunteers and transport for the publicaccessing the venue.I was responcible for the management of the design and delivery ofall resources which included two books, 6 booklets, 40 exhibitionboards, a variety of films and a website. I supported my staff team toengage in their creative disciplines by encouraging debate anddiscussion and giving them space to develop.

Heritage And Cultural Co-OrdinatorInverclyde Community Development Trust Jun 2010 - May 2011InverclydeWe are Morton securing £23,000 for a Young Roots Programme Inetworked and engaged with a Local School to develop new skillsusing Heritage and Arts as an engagement tool and supporting theCurriculum for Excellence education model.I supervised and facilitated staff to gain new skills whilst supportingdelivery of the programme.We are Morton a 96 page book which the young people researchedand compiled information on the History of Morton Football Club andsocial history of the local area.I sourced and engaged external agencies to deliver activities whichincluded storytelling and film and media training which enhanced theyoung peoples skills.The young people also received ASDAN Accreditation for the bookproduced, ASDAN Co-ordinators invited a number of us to WatfordFootball Club to present principles of good practice and the projectsachievements.

Billin of the Bell was aHeritage Lottery funded Project which was to catalogue theCommunity History of Port Glasgow.My role was to engage with the wider community of Port Glasgowand offer volunteering opportunities. I engaged and recruitedvolunteers whose role was to research and produce a number ofresources including a 96 page book The volunteer group which I facilitated and supported throughout the2 year project produced a book Newark to Newark which was verysuccessful.I co-ordinated Nationwide Media coverage for the project andvolunteers by appearing on STV News featuring the GourockRopeworks and promoting the funders and my organisation.This project totalled £68,000 worth of volunteer hours meeting withHeritage Lottery Funding GageWhilst being employed to deliver Billin of the Bell I successfullysecured funding for £25,000 from Heritage Lottery to deliver a YoungRoots Project working with young people to produce an AnimatedFilm on the History of the Shipyards.The group of young people had both hearing and deaf young peopleworking togther. I co-ordnated with James Watt College to deliverSVQ Accredited training to the young people.I applied for the young people to be nominated for the NationalYoung Scot Awards under the Heritage Banner for raising awarenessof Heritage in Inverclyde. Again the project received National andLocal media coverage.Whilst co-ordinating both projects I wrote a project proposal to theBBC for an Intergenerational Project which looked at both the Pastand Present of Inverclyde working with older and younger peopleacross Inverclyde. Working with BBC/L.A.B the short film was airedon BBC2 Clydeside Stories.

Iengaged and networked with agencies and deaf community to securefunding of £15,000 to deliver a service which supported the youngpeoples needs with BSL support. The project won 2 National AwardsYoung Scot Awards and the BT Awards the project was recognisedon a National level and supported by memebers of the ScottishParliament.I was consulted by Social Work aregarding Youth Provision for youngpeople on the Autistic Spectrum, both agencies worked closelytogether to establish a venue and staff to deliver a programme ofactivities. I applied for funding from the Health Improvement Fundand secured £25,000 in funding this secured access to youthprovision for 10 young people.Working in Partnership with james Watt College I secrued funding of£7,500 and designed an informal model of education to supportunemployed young people to develop new skills and enhance theiropportunity to gain employment or access further education. Theproject was to offer 10 young people access to NQ Modules in Filmand Media delivered in a youth service enviroment.I n representing my Organisation I was depute manager in anoverseas exchange project. Working in Partnership with a lovalvolunteering project we recruited 14 young people and fundraised£39,000 in 9 months to visit Canada on an exchange programme tobuild homes for the homeless. I found this expereince invaluabledirectly contributing to Risk Assessment and health and Safetyawareness.
