Research Assistant- Center For Gene Therapy
Current• Conducts gene therapy research and laboratory analysis agreed upon with the principal investigator• Conducts in vitro and in vivo experiments using gene therapy virus vectors (Adeno-associated virus)• Sets up research experiments and arranges for animals to be used in research experiments through appropriate research institute procedures. • Performs research experiments independently in accordance with protocols approved by the principal investigator• Collects and analyzes data in accordance with appropriate statistical procedures, and prepares reports, inclusive of graphs, tables, and photographs, of the results of studies • Ensures accuracy of laboratory analytical procedures as required by specific research projects.• Assists in the preparation of scientific publications and grant proposals with regard to a specific area of research• Makes recommendations about refinement and/or replacement of laboratory analytical procedures; implements such refinements or new procedures with input from the principal investigator• Orders supplies needed to conduct research; maintains inventory of equipment and supplies and assures that research equipment is in good working order.• Maintains a clean working area and performs general laboratory maintenance; adheres to proper safety techniques and procedures
