Throughout this internship, I’ll learn how to conduct research with customers, how to do interaction design for software products, and discover how to organize projects in teams. I’ll also be learning the various roles in the software industry and network by forming professional connections!I’ll also be given the opportunity to conduct user interviews and provide user research analysis reports for the purpose of informing the user experience design team for Express. Finally, I’ll learn how to design for Express in order to make designs for different systems!

At the Perfect Piece, I help sell a wide variety of home decorations, furniture, jewelry, and accessories. This job has allowed me to learn how to communicate with guests and find ways to help solve their concerns. Managing cards, cash, and gift certificates at the register while also wrapping and packaging purchased items efficiently so the line can keep a steady pace. Cooperated with coworkers in order to complete tasks like rotating or moving furniture and circulating the store.

The Vintage Emporium is a self-run Etsy shop that I launched in October 2023. With the use of my certifications in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, I sell a variety of different Old Hollywood and Disney-themed designs. These designs are printed on bookmarks, cards, and keychains. I also construct Blind Date with a Book and candle waxes. This opportunity has allowed me to understand what it is like to run a small business, and how to manage it properly while still handling school, a job, and other extracurriculars. Another thing I've learned is that making the products I sell has allowed me to express my creativity and uniqueness while also understanding what guests want and what they don't like. I love the independence of running the small business, while also enjoying the fun of befriending and communicating with my customers. Another skill I've utilized in this job is video editing for marketing.

WRAL Post 5 Program Internship. Learning from many evening news anchors, directors, writers, and various station employees on how to do their part in the news station. We have covered how to create newsworthy stories, utilize proper interviewing techniques, and produce on-location coverage, all while maintaining hurried deadlines. Through this internship, we've also briefly covered how to use a camera, how to use lighting in your camera shots, and how to prepare before these events. We visited the Hayes Barton baptist Church and explored behind the scenes of their live broadcast. There, we learned how the camera pans, what some buttons do, and what roles each person must take on during a live broadcast.
