My name is Kayla Portillo, and I am a Biology major with a Public Health minor at Boston University. Since the start of my undergraduate studies, I have been deeply passionate about understanding how biological components of the environment influence human health. I am particularly interested in addressing how environmental factors such as pollution, climate change, and biodiversity impact public health outcomes, as well as how healthcare systems can effectively intervene to mitigate these challenges. I wish to gain more opportunities in fields like environmental health, biotechnology, and sustainability and collaborate on projects that advance medical science or promote sustainable solutions for public health through biological research.
