Phd - Child And Youth Research
This study’s main objective is to develop a quantitative measure of inter- ethnic relations that is a) child-centered, b) broad and cohesive, c) reliable and sensitive, d) robust in validity, and e) relevant for use with migrant children. The research will then test the measure in an area of demonstrated need: the association between children’s inter-ethnic relations and mental health outcomes. To date, there is no quantitative measure of children’s inter-ethnic relations that meets these strict criterion. The successful development of such a measure will benefit researchers as well as practitioners who work with multi-ethnic children and seek to gain a better understanding of their difficult to access social worlds.
