Black Erg Co Lead
CurrentAs Co-Lead of the Black Employee Resource Group (Black ERG) at the National Wildlife Federation, I am dedicated to fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and empowering community that supports Black staff. In this role, I collaborate with ERG members, organizational leadership, and other ERGs to champion equity, justice, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion initiatives. My efforts ensure that Black voices are amplified, systemic barriers are addressed, and the well-being of Black employees—mind, body, and spirit—is prioritized. Key Responsibilities: - Community Building: I create a safe and inclusive space for Black employees to connect, share experiences, and celebrate culture. - Advocacy: I work to identify and address systemic inequities within the organization and promote policies that enhance equity and justice for Black staff. - Collaboration: I partner with NWF leadership and other ERGs to ensure Black perspectives are integrated into organizational strategies and conservation efforts. - Program Development: I organize and oversee events, discussions, and initiatives that support professional growth, personal wellness, and cultural awareness. - Representation: I act as a voice for Black employees in internal and external conversations, ensuring visibility and recognition for their contributions to NWF and the environmental conservation movement. - Communication: I share relevant updates, resources, and opportunities with ERG members and advocate for their needs across the organization. In this role, I am committed to fostering a culture of belonging and equity within the workplace, strengthening NWF’s mission by ensuring it reflects the diversity and richness of the Black experience.
