As an intern with the City of Colorado Springs I participated in various mapping projects for the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Division. GPS data collection, editing, geodatabase management, and the final products of maps that show the park irrigation systems along with inventory and equipment. Other projects consisted of flood erosion and trail damage in the regional Parks, which helped to assist FEMA(federal emergency management agency) in the distribution of repair funds. Also, the creation, organization, and management of a database which consisted of maps and descriptions of all the land assets of the Parks and Recreation Division according to the El Paso County assessors office.
