This report is PBL’s biennial assessment of the quality of the human environment for achieving government objectives within the set timeframe. The report provides the Dutch parliament, government and society with a fact-based insight into the quality of the human environment. The assessment explicitly focuses on the future, discussing areas where the government should provide more direction and where coherent strategies can create the required space for sustainability transitions in core societal systems to tackle the Netherlands’ long-term (environmental) challenges.

Initiating and actively contributing to the NFP working group on transitions that resulted in the Eionet publication “Sustainability transitions: Now for the long term”. Coordination and day-to-day management of the Eionet network, providing country data and expert knowledge to the European Environmental Agency (EEA). Responsible for identifying and supporting operational use cases highlighting the potential of the INSPIRE Directive and evaluating the interoperability of INSPIRE information for cross-border applications.
