I am a results driven senior facilities manager with 20+ years’ experience of managing some of the biggest properties in South Africa. I have a track record of success with clients that include major banks and international corporates, who demand exceptional customer service and, increasingly, environmentally friendly strategies that save money on energy and operating costs and which are sustainable long term. Key responsibilities:• Woodlands Office Park, one of the largest in the southern hemisphere comprising 33 buildings. Woodlands also has a game park with a dam and various types of wildlife. Handling around 2000 visitors a day. • Recently taken on a new Sandton Surrounds and East portfolio with 19 addresses, each with between 2 and 7 buildings, totaling 110, 000m² under roof. This includes the new flag ship head office of Discovery Health.• Previously in charge of the Constantia Office Park which has 17 buildings covering 74, 000m².• Managing a team of 4 Building/Facilities Managers and 9 maintenance staff.Achievements:• Made significant improvements at both the Constantia and Woodlands Office Parks which were underperforming. Rewarded by being given responsibility for a brand-new portfolio (and Constantia being handed over to another manager as it is now running smoothly).• Achieved a (double) Gold in the South African Landscaping Awards for using waterwise plants and irrigation that saved the company R3.8m in costs.• Implemented VRF/VRV air conditioning units which are 30-35% more energy efficient.• Established an on-site HVAC team which saved nearly 60% in monthly costs as well as an on-site electrical team which also saves costs. -
National Facilities ManagerEris Property Group/Emira Property Fund Apr 2015 - Jul 2017City Of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South AfricaSpecialists in property management, development, and investment services.Key responsibilities:• Overall management of the national facilities management portfolio which included buildings housing the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and Rand Merchant Bank as well as new developments at 102 and 129 Rivonia Road in Sandton.• Responsible for the recruitment, performance, and training of Facilities Managers (on each site) plus associated staff including finance, maintenance, helpdesk, and client liaison.• New development and operation cost forecasting.• Implementing and managing the national procurement process.Achievements:• Involved in the design and build of 129 Rivonia Road – The Marc, a R500m new mixed use, commercial and retail development, which includes mobility impaired compliance, bicycle parking and cyclist changing rooms. -
