Our commitment is to provide support with experienced, non-judgemental and friendly advice, as well as a variety of practical services which cover a range of social, family and financial issues. We have a network of dedicated and trained caseworkers and visitors throughout France who are ready to help.

Tower Lifeboat Station, Victoria Embankment, London, Wc2R 2Pp

Acting as a stand-in volunteer Helm, when necessary, at the RNLI's busiest, and 24/7 crewed, station located in Central London. Or acting as crew in various roles on the boat. Working a minimum of 2 12-hour shifts a month. Also Community Safety Officer for the station (again on a volunteer basis) working with other London organisations to deliver a project to reduce the drowning rate in Central London.

Tower Lifeboat Station, Victoria Embankment, London

A full-time salaried helmsman on the RNLI's busiest, and permanently manned, Lifeboat Station. Working 4 12-hour shifts (day or night) followed by 4 days off, based in Central London saving life and responding to emergencies between Woolwich Ferry and Battersea Bridge - nearly 14 miles of river. The lifeboat is a 10.5m E-class Mk 2 In-shore Lifeboat with 850HP of twin-jet drive, speed of 40 knots, a crew of 3-4, and must launch within 90 seconds of an emergency call.

Warriors to Work (W2W) is aimed at Service Leavers (SL) and early veterans who require additional support, beyond current provision, if they are to avoid potential failure in transition and all its associated moral and financial cost to society. W2W will deliver a pro-active, holistic and vertically integrated process that addresses individual needs and has a realistic, relevant and sustainable second career as its outcome. Whilst the W2W target group does not specifically include wounded, injured or sick SL, the rehabilitation and transition of whom is the responsibility of the recently enhanced Defence Recovery Capability, it will extend to both individuals who fall outside the selection criteria or capacity of the single Service recovery programmes and to mobilised reservists. PROGRAMME NOW PLACED IN SUSPENDED ANIMATION DUE TO LACK OF FUNDING - THE NEED REMAINS HOWEVER!

Overseeing the activity and governance of one of the 35 professional engineering institutions in the UK. A membership organisation open to all serving Royal Engineers officers and soldiers, and to retired personnel also. Some 13,000 members. Accredited by the Engineering Council to award CEng, IEng and Eng Tech professional qualifications for Military Engineering. Also responsible for Royal Engineer publications, memorials and heritage.

Resident Governor responsible for running the UK's largest pay-to-entry heritage attraction in a Royal Palace. 156 staff. £40M annual turnover. Also Main Board Director of Historic Royal Palaces

Leading a team to design a solution to combine HQ Land and HQ Adjutant General, saving 20% of the 2,500 posts, and re-locating the new Headquarters. By the time I left the structural solution had been designed, location selected, savings identified.

Chairman of Studies at RCDS - a college in London for 80 senior students from some 40 different countries: military, police, civil service, industry. The purpose was to teach them International Studies at Masters level to better prepare future international leaders with the challenges of security, stability and prosperity in the 21st Century. My task was to design the course and ensure that it was delivered effectively.

Principal Staff Officer to the Adjutant General - the Army's HR Director. Pulling together briefing papers, running the HQ staff of c40 mil/civ staff, corporate planning of £1.2Bn budget and associated performance management, personal budget £40M, command of Reserves Training and Mobilisation Centre. Non-exec Director on RN Audit Board.

Strategic manpower planning for the Army - size and shape. Setting recruiting targets. Setting officer promotion quotas. Army policy lead for women and all other aspects of diversity. Chairman of Army Retirement board, and responsible for arbitrating and deciding on sensitive discharges of officers and soldiers.

Responsible for the design, building and maintenance of operational infrastructure in the Remote Stations Overseas: eg UK bases on Cyprus, Falkland Islands, Brunei, Nepal etc. Operation of the Royal Engineers logisitic organisation - which I closed down and transferred to the Defence Supply Agency. Command of the Military Works Force, RE Logistics organisation, Engineer & Logistics Staff Corps (V)

Various military appointments at regimental duty, courses, or on the staff. Included command of 38 Engineer Regiment, attendance at RAF Staff College, Royal College of Defence Studies, and staff appointments in the MOD and in brigade and divisional HQs
