I began my working career with 4 years as an United States Solider. Undoubtedly, this experience helped to form my strong views on "just getting the job done". After leaving the military, the rest of my career has been related to the construction industry. I started in the survey profession in 1986, working on the east coast. I was involved in railroad construction, residential developments and commercial buildings, including a 35 story high-rise in Atlanta. After relocating to the west coast, I continued in the survey profession until 1999, when I had an opportunity to take a position as a field supervisor for JR Hayes and Sons, where I worked primarily on the Highlands Development in Issaquah for several years. This experience gave me valuable insight, as I had a chance to work with surveyors, instead of being the surveyor. It's always beneficial to see things from the other side of the fence.In 2004 I moved back to surveying as a project surveyor with ESM Consulting Engineers. I served as ESM's principal field surveyor for the Suncadia Resort in Roslyn, Washington. In 2007 I put away my plumb bob and moved to an office position, where I am in charge of the field crews for ESM's Everett office. My strongest desire is to make sure my clients are extremely well taken care of. I am a hands-on manager and work hard to deliver above and beyond expectations.As of January, 2017, I began a new phase in my career. I have become a principal at ESM and manager of the Everett branch office. I hope to continue the tradition of always listening and understanding our clients, providing the best service we can, and providing our employees a place to grow and succeed. The Journey continues.As the journey continues I have now taken on the additional duties as a Board member to continue the great traditions at ESM. These duties are a great honor that comes with a certain degree of expertise and respect for all the employees at ESM.
