Data engineer. Bringing data together into a data warehouse for functional analytics. Creating and maintaining reports to enable informed decision making for executive groups. I function best when dealing with the more complex datasets that need joining in different ways. analysis of data and have strong capabilities eliciting requirements from business stakeholders. More recently I have become interested in training users on the use of the visual side of the delivered data in PowerBI, ensuring they understand how to use the considerable amount of analytics in one report. While I love to have all of the steps documented, I try to create light documentation around the reports I create and documents I implement. Otherwise it's easy to get lost in the detail and it's too difficult to maintain.I've learned so much from the people I have worked with over the years; understanding others perspectives and other ways to approach issues. I always make the effort to give back, helping others problem solve whenever they come to me for advice or even just a second opinion.Data is Data. I let it tell it's story honestly. Often times that's easier said than done, but the challenge is what makes it fun. Master data management is the most often overlooked requirement for advanced report functionality.SQL server and powerBI are the main tools used. other tools like Python and R are not frequently used due to highly secure network requirements.
