In this role, I work closely with individuals and businesses to achieve their goals. With dealing with the Internal Revenue Service, I work with the IRS at all levels (examination, appeals, and IRS counsel) to determine the correct application of the tax law to my client's tax returns. This involves drafting appeal letters and if necessary represent clients in front of the United States Tax Court. In Colorado, I represent local individuals and businesses that are facing Colorado Department of Revenue audits whether it be for individual taxes or a sales and use tax audit for businesses. I ensure that my clients are fairly treated during all audits and safeguard them from any unfair adjustments. I also provide guidance to individuals seeking to form a business. This includes providing insight into the tax consequences of which entity they seek to form. Once the entity is chosen, I draft the incorporation documents, operating agreement/bylaws for the entity, and other documents necessary for the business to begin operation. Show less

Represented clients in tax disputes with the Colorado Department of Revenue and Internal Revenue Service. Worked with the taxing authorities to resolve clients tax issues and ensure continued tax compliance in the future. Representations included audits, appeals, collection due process hearings, release/withdrawals of liens, installment agreements, and offer in compromises.

Solo-law firm and represented clients in the local community. Provided hands on counseling and legal advice to best fit my clients needs. Represented clients in various legal matters. These matters include legal separations, child custody disputes, drafting wills and trusts, filing probate, marijuana licensing, and disputing conditional and special use permits.

On a daily basis, I provided a review and compliance check of all summons and complaints sent to consumers. Goal was to ensure accuracy of filings and compliance with consumer protection laws. Required diligence and knowledge of Colorado and Federal consumer protection laws to ensure that Machol and Johannes was complying to all applicable laws. Duties also included preparing dockets for court, drafting stipulation agreements and occasionally being present at county court.

Worked directly with the Managing Attorney, Bill Moller, in resolving general disputes including legal separations, contract disputes, and general community disputes. Work included attending court hearings and mediation to represent our clients interests.
