I am a neuropsychiatrist with a particular focus in sleep/ wake disorders and attention disorders, such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). I completed a NSW Institute of Psychiatry Fellowship in Intellectual disability mental health at Department of Developmental Disability Neuropsychiatry (3DN) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) followed by an additional training year in Learning Disability in Oxford, United Kingdom. During that time, I did specialist rotations in both Brain Injury and Epilepsy. On return to Australia, I worked for 5 years at Wollongong Hospital where I established a brain injury clinic at the Illawarra Brain Injury Service (IBIS) and a neuropsychiatry clinic at the Department of Neurosciences, which saw a wide range of disorders including the neuropsychiatric comorbidities of neurological illness such as epilepsy, movement disorders and cerebrovascular disorders. We also collaborated with the clinical psychologists and neurologists to run a three-session psychoeducation programme for functional neurological disorder (FND).I completed a Master's of Medicine (Sleep Medicine) in 2016, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 2022 which explored the neurophysiological underpinnings of the insomnia with short sleep duration subtype. I also have an Advanced Training Certificate in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry with the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. I completed a Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology at Harvard University in 2024.I am also a writer and independent film-maker whose films have screened in film festivals internationally. My short fiction has appeared in the Saltbush Review, Forty South Short Story Anthology and The West Australian. I have been longlisted in the Peter Carey Short Story Award and the Furphy Literary Award. I was Highly Commended in the Tasmanian Writers' Prize 2023 and was a Shortlisted Finalist in the Best Australian Yarn 2023.
