    Shuakhevi Hydropower Project, GeorgiaProject Coordinator for the detailed design of the 175 MW Shuakhevi Hydropower Project on the Adjaristsqali River in south-west Georgia. The ~US$ 300 million scheme includes 30 km of tunnels, two powerhouses, a 5m weir, 20m high hardfill dam and a 44m high concrete dam. The role included liaison with the team internally as well as with the client.Subsequently based in Georgia for 1 year as Assistant Resident Engineer for the site supervision of the Shuakhevi HPP, working as part of the team responsible for overseeing the construction of two dams and a weir. Mott MacDonald is the Owner’s Engineer and responsible for administering the Civil Works Contract and Electro-Mechanical Contract using modified versions of the FIDIC Red Book and Yellow Book respectively. The project is privately funded by Adjaristsqali Georgia LLC.On return to the UK responsible for the detailed design of a tunnel outlet structure and an additional weir and water transfer system. Also undertook slope stability analysis for the rockfill dam following changes to the dam configuration.

Also part of a small team undertaking the bid evaluation for the second major contract to be awarded with a value of circa US $27 million.Subsequently spent over a year as Assistant Project Manager offering head office support, managing issues coming from the project in Pakistan, assisting in the strategic planning of future contracts and overseeing the administration and project management in Cambridge.
