Set up a manufacturing template to maximise throughput at the lowest cost and capital employed levels.• In 2004, I conducted a review on behalf of BSkyB, resulting in recommendations to improve short-term profitability of a monthly 7 million-copy magazine and the longer-term strategy to maximise value.• In 2006, I was the Chief Financial Officer of National Speed Sports News and was part of a MBO team that looked to increase value from an established mature product. The shareholders had extracted all the cashflow that the business had generated and moving the product forward would need more investment.• In 2007, I was briefed by Emap plc to conduct the strategic review of their Australian subsidiary (historic revenue A$66m and EBITDA A$2.2m) and handle any resulting disposals. I was the point person based in Australia and sold the business to ACP for A$94m (13.3 x current year EBITDA). The sale was complicated as the key assets were and continue to be magazines licensed by Emap plc • In 2008, I was appointed CFO, of a software developer Future Route Ltd, after impressing on an assignment, and was responsible for establishing improved business tracking systems & structures• In 2009, I assisted Unruly Media Ltd in reviewing and arranging their funding requirements• In 2009, appointed to assist LowC Communities Ltd, a group of 5 companies providing renewable energy solutions, in ensuring the group was in good shape, help develop the business plan & was attractive to prospective investors• 2006 to 2013, lead the FIPP training workshops for the FIPP Magazine Management Certificate in the understanding finance. The course delegates are typically Directors of international magazine publishers.
