Elected position - serving fourth term.

• Responsible for Program and Team Leadership, including direct supervision and administration/leadership of the Land Conservancy’s land protection team (field directors, project managers, conservation planning team, and stewardship). Responsible for providing effective leadership in carrying out the mission of the Land Conservancy.• Responsible for land protection efforts, including coordinating efforts to identify, structure and carry out land protection transactions that benefit conservation, communities, partners and the Land Conservancy.• Charged with raising significant program support revenue from land protection transactions. Responsible for identifying new opportunities to grow program support, for accurately forecasting gross and net revenue expectations, for anticipating and managing risk, and for ensuring the revenue meets or exceeds budgeted expectations.• Responsible for providing concurrence with targeted partners – by establishing, implementing and monitoring strategies to align priorities and to achieve common goals with key funding partners.• Responsible for contributing to a positive organizational culture by providing strong communications, living the Land Conservancy values, and demonstrating a willingness to collaborate, learn and develop.

• Responsible for carrying out Board decisions and implementation of Board policies.• Responsible for the direct supervision and administration/leadership of Geauga Park District’s operations, ranger, administrative, contract and planning, natural resources management, marketing and interpretive departments. Responsible for providing effective and motivational leadership in carrying out the mission and ongoing operations of the Park District.• Prepare and coordinate the annual budget for Geauga Park District (over $11.6 million in 2012) and make recommendations to the Board. Responsible for land acquisition negotiations and purchases. Since 1999, have been directly and actively involved in increasing the land holdings of Geauga Park District by two fold (4,762 acres in 1999 – vs. – over 10,000 acres in 2012).• Oversee the Human Resources Office and assist with managing, hiring, discipline, training, and related functions. • Oversee the Development Office and assist with fund- and friend-raising responsibilities. .• Represent Geauga Park District in union/labor negotiations and administer contracts.• Represent the Park District and/or Director at meetings and make public presentations on behalf of the Park District. Develop mission-oriented partnerships with local government agencies, not-for-profit organizations and businesses aimed at achieving common goals.• Provide administrative leadership for a staff of sixty-one (61) employees. Provide leadership, direction and guidance through operational, long range and strategic planning for the Park District. • Encourage high standards of performance, ethics and personal conduct.• Identify outside funding sources and direct efforts to obtain funds for District projects and programs (yielded over $5.2 million in outside funding since 2009).• Provide leadership and guidance to levy campaigns (2000, 2005, and 2012).

Assist the Board of Supervisors in carrying out its administrative responsibilities, including coordination of the District’s conservation program, its Long Range Plan, and the Annual Plan of Operation.* Provide information and technical assistance to implement the District’s urban erosion control program, drainage and pond site evaluations, and the State Agricultural Pollution Abatement Rules and Standards program.* Review erosion and sediment control plans and stormwater management plans for compliance with the Geauga County Water Management and Sediment Control Regulations. Recommend optimum site planning related to these areas of concern.* Provide assistance in conducting the District’s educational and informational programs, including annual programs for erosion control, household drainage, natural resources management, and related subjects.
