Keith Moore is a Canadian forestry consultant with 30 years of diverse working experience across Canada and eleven other countries. He is a registered professional forester (RPF) in Canada and has a Masters of Arts in Resource Geography. As an independent consultant, he works for a variety of local, national and international clients.Keith has long experience leading multi-disciplinary teams of assessors and specialists and co-ordinating the preparation of complex reports. Since 2000 he has served as the team leader or a team member on approximately 80 projects involving FSC assessments, a REDD+ evaluation, a US AID evaluation, and an evaluation of a large international company’s progress to meet social and environmental commitments. He has led or worked on projects in Indonesia, Australia, Russia, Cameroon, Guyana, Montenegro, Guatemala, Kenya, Canada, and the USA. Many of these projects have involved the assessment of High Conservation Values.Keith has been active in the Forest Stewardship Council since 2000. He has led many FSC assessments and annual audits in 7 countries and participated in Standards development in 7 countries. He participated in the development of international generic indicators. He has delivered FSC training sessions and presentations, and attended 3 General Assemblies. He is currently Chair of the Policy and Standards Committee of the FSC Board.From 1995 to 2000, Keith was the first Chair of the independent Forest Practices Board in British Columbia, Canada, a globally-unique forest public watchdog organization. In the years prior to 1995, Keith was a consultant working for a wide variety of clients in Canada, for the UN Environment Program in Kenya and Tanzania, and on an Asian Development Bank project in Bangladesh. Keith has extensive international travel and work experience. Working and travelling, he has visited over 70 countries, and has lived in Canada, Denmark, the UK, Kenya, Bangladesh and Indonesia.
