I am a technologist with over 30 years of experience in developing large-scale speech and telecommunications platforms. I founded Nuamedia in 2011, initially serving as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and have since transitioned to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Despite this change, I remain deeply involved in the technology and research aspects of the company.Over the past 13 years at Nuamedia, I've led more than 50 research and development projects along with delivering innovative solutions to government agencies, enterprises, and the two largest telecommunications companies in Australia—Telstra and Optus. We developed the first Visual IVR services in Australia for both Telstra and Optus main inbound numbers, along with creating core network components and systems that are still operational today. We introduced large-scale chatbots before they became mainstream, and our groundbreaking omnichannel AI-assisted systems seamlessly integrate artificial intelligence to enhance user experiences across multiple channels. Our work has transformed how businesses interact with their customers.We're now expanding our global presence by opening new offices in England and Toronto before the end of 2024. This growth will allow us to better serve international clients and continue pushing the boundaries of what's possible in AI-assisted omnichannel communications.Earlier in my career, I designed telecommunications platforms for companies like Cable & Wireless —some of which have been reliably operating for over two decades. While working in Boston, I was part of pioneering natural language speech recognition broker trading systems with Fidelity Investments and SpeechWorks.My expertise encompasses AI, natural language systems, speech and communications technology, advanced user interfaces, and innovative omnichannel systems. Alongside my responsibility for the architecture, I designed and implemented 5+ key products and platforms. When Fidelity setup in Ireland I was the first hire for this team. I set off to Boston on long-spell working trips to understand their business and also work on first-of-a-kind Natural Language Speech Recognition IVR systems for brokers and traders. I worked closely with the Speechworks team in Boston and spent most of my time in the USA. -

I worked in the Environmental Control Division of A.B.B. Dublin during a very dynamic time. When computer technology was coming into the industry. I learned how to design complex process control & building management systems - while attending part-time mechanical engineering college. I introduced and pioneered the use of Autocad for engineering drawings. I also created first of a kind advanced 3D computer graphics for our process control and building management monitoring systems. I designed process control and BMS systems for multiple large scale projects around Europe. Working hand-in-hand with an engineering inspiration and mentor Mr Tony Turley and the irreplaceable Mr Danny McGrory (both RIP).
