Keith Hunter is a San Francisco Bay Area music educator, performer, clinician, and trombone soloist. Mr. Hunter received his BM degrees in music education and trombone performance from the San Jose State University School of Music and Dance. Keith is currently a music teacher in the Palo Alto Unified School District where he teaches 5th grade instrumental music classes and at Gunn High School. In his spare time, Keith gives private lessons, coaches, and clinics at local high schools and middle schools.Keith completed his California music credential at San Jose State University and student taught at Homestead High School in Cupertino, California. While at San Jose State University, he privately studied conducting with Dr. Edward C. Harris, trombone with Thomas D. Hornig, trumpet with Dr. Kathryn Adduci, and was the founder and director of the SJSU Music Education Workshop Ensemble. He was also a co-conductor of the SJSU symphonic band, the SJSU winter pep band director, and was the SJSU marching band equipment manager.Keith has performed as a trombone soloist for the San Jose State University Symphony Orchestra, Brass Ensemble, and Jazz Band. In addition to his solo opportunities at SJSU, he has also been a featured soloist with other Bay Area ensembles such as A Touch of Brass, Silicon Valley Brass Band, Homestead High School, and Lynbrook High School. Mr. Hunter has been a performing member of the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, The Oakland East Bay Symphony, Silicon Valley Symphony, and many other performing ensembles in the Bay Area.
