Field Engineer

Charlotte, North Carolina, United States

As a field engineer in engineering services, my main duties all revolved around providing support and training on any number of products across the country. The three most common ways I did this was through supporting the implementation of products in the field, teaching classes to introduce fiber basics to students or certify subcontractors to work with the products, or help run the technical service line.- Traveled on 23 trips across the country. 15 of these were to repair fiber being installed in hyper-scale data centers before the site is turned over to the customer, and 8 of the trips I led myself. When leading, I organize how the team will approach challenges of the week as well as act as the central contact connecting the subcontractor, customer, and Corning.- Teach two different classes that help train people how to use testing and troubleshooting equipment in the field, as well as learn all the basic theory of fiber, fiber related products, and fiber networks.- Worked on the Technical Support Line, where I'd help about 15 customers a day on various, complex issues, from product inquiries to field issues to system build suggestions.- Supported our carrier group by working and coding the configurator, an excel tool used to efficiently and easily convert fiber network blueprints into usable cable designs and orders.

Supply Chain Intern

Georgia, United States

At Hon, I worked in the supply chain department on two major projects for thei rmanufacturing plant. First, I helped develop a tool to create individualized supplier reports indicating expected deliveries based on demand forecasts, as well as a scorecard on quality, on-time delivery and comparison rating to other HON suppliers. This tool is now rolled out and used branch wide. The second project involved me using Lean 6 Sigma tools and working with Rapid Continuous Improvement and Distribution departments to improve material flow into the plant and onto the pack-out lines. I also worked directly with suppliers to change shipping methods that would lead to lower and better organized inventory in the factory as well as improved safety and mobility for people and forklifts.

Intern In Control Actuation Systems

United States

As an intern in control actuation systems, I worked on every part of the engineering process behind many products. Much of my time consisted of working with PTC Creo and ANSYS 18 Workbench. I used PTC Creo, a CAD software, to design and eventually manufacture assembly fixtures, as well as analyze complex control actuation systems and assemblies. With ANSYS, I taught myself Finite Element Analysis and was able to perform simulations in order to determine the strength of assembly components. I also worked hands-on in the lab to create mass simulant assemblies in order to test the product's ability to withstand the expected environments it would undergo during use.

Jun 2020 - Aug 2020

Mechanical Engineering Intern

Wilson Recondition And Design, Llc

Worked as a mechanic to repair and condition industrial tagging machines. This included learning the ins and outs of each type of machine I worked on, deciphering the problems that cause the machine to not work, and solving those problems by either just replacing parts, moving around sections of the machine, or making new parts.

Jul 2019 - Aug 2019

Intern In Chemical Intermediates

United States

Reviewed profitability and contribution margins on customer/product basis to gain more transparency on cost to serve, researched de-icing markets (airports) to provide target customers and locations, and analyzed import/export statistics to complete market maps estimating US market size and global material flow balances for key products.

May 2019 - Aug 2019

Math Tutor

Sparta, Nj

I worked as a math tutor instructor, where I taught students from kindergarten to high school varying topics of math, from basic addition to algebra and geometry. During a day of work, I would rotate between several students, helping students in need and checking work, as well as organizational duties, such as submitting assessments, filing student academic plans, and cleaning student resources and items.
