Appointment by US Treasury Secretary to three year term on Taxpayer Advocacy Panel. Panel, consisting of 74 members, identify system wide problems and issues with IRS policies and procedures and make recommendations for changes to improve how IRS interacts with both the public and practitioners. A very important part of the mission is to identify problems taxpayers are having dealing with IRS either in person or through the toll free phone lines. Also work closely with the 74 Local Taxpayer Advocates who primarily deal with specific individual taxpayer issues.

Rejoined Bill Compere in 1988 and formed Compere & Robinette. Opened 2nd office in 1990 and maintained both offices until Mr. Compere retired in June 2000. Since Mr. Compere's retirement, I closed the Springfield office and ceased our audit practice to focus on bankruptcy issues, small business consulting, tax planning and compliance and business outsourcing of bookkeeping and payroll services. Sold ownership in the majority of the practice November 1, 2015, but still active with a limited number of clients, trusts and eldercare services.
