After joining the Upjohn Company in England, working for the company in Scandinavia and here in Kalamazoo where I also earned a masters dgree in Industrial psychology I "retired" in 1990. Long convinced that the majority of business problems were management problems in 1991 I went into business under the banner KR Management Development.Fifty years of management and leadership development work have convinced me that the majority of failures result not from a lack of technical skills but from underdeveloped "soft skills" - inability to communicate and simply get along with people. My own communication skills first developed in hospital practice working with patients and fellow professionals and in multinational business. They were honed in public speaking assignments across Europe and in the USA, and latterly by my hosting a weekly live interview program on community television.
