Designed and developed an airport lounge check-in application for Leeds Bradford Airport. The app was primarily for use on the Microsoft Tablet and was developed as a UWP app that utilized a WCF service which I also built.My role involves incorporating page designs into an app which will run on the Microsoft Service device. Functionality is being applied with C# and I'm also responsible for constructing and building the Microsoft SQL back end. Further requirements include interaction with additional hardware and data from a number of third-party vendors.

Three-month support contract working with partners of Geek Talent. My role was to manage a three-man development team who were responsible for developing a suite of new features for the Nutshell Mobile developer application.As well as managing an agile development environment and chairing daily scrums I developed several new features including a drag-and-drop HTML Free style component that greatly expanded the functionality of the app. The tech stack used included Eclipse, MySQL, JavaScript, BootStrap, Angular 2, HTML, CSS, etc.

Key AchievementsThe amalgamation of BAE’s formerly acquired armament businesses consisted of a number of disjointed processes for managing IT requests. I designed and developed the ITCR (IT Change Request) system using C#.NET and SQL to deliver the functionality agreed with the IT Infrastructure teams across the UK and later Sweden. The outcome was a single system containing the full history of over 40,000 requests, each with a full timeline history of status changes. Thereby giving the business the ability to identify and act upon issues and trends across over 20 sites. Over 1 million engineering drawings, documents and records existed in a number of be-spoke legacy systems across former satellite businesses which were of value to the business in a spares and support capacity. Specific parts could not be quickly identified or located in the current dispersed manner and in some cases the knowledge to query the data had left the business. As the business moved to a single PLM solution with Siemens Teamcenter I assumed the dual role of Project Manager / Technical Lead to both understand the data we had available and developing scripts with third party vendors to migrate the relevant data to Teamcenter and increasing its data / drawings footprint by over 50% RoleDesigning, developing and supporting in-house web applications providing Portal and CMS functionality to BAE and the MoD Project managing the installation of third party applications and services to support projects of various sizes, costs and complexity.Providing solutions to ad-hoc IT requirements which do not always have an obvious off the shelf solution. This has gained me four BAE Chairman’s innovation awards.

Formally the Eye Clinic francize I was promoted from a Application programmer to Senior Programmer/Analyst / Team-leader responsible for scoping, developing and delivering the VB/SQL system for the company’s expanding Health Clinic franchise and their Laser Surgery business. I was also responsible for working on the .NET web version of same system when Optical Express bought out the Eye Clinics business.

Working in a contractual role alongside the NHS Pensions Agency staff to develop ActiveX DLL apps which trawled through millions of SQL DB records; encompassing NHS employee work history. The findings were then used to calculate and capture an individual’s pension contribution within a given period via the NHS internal intranet.

Long running contract which involved designing VBA macros within MS Office emplates which were used to create various legal insurance documents. These templates were used to produce legal documentation for the ‘Egg’ credit card and internet banking firm, for whom Guardian were the underwriters.
