UK finance transformation was a multi million pound, multi year project to transform the RSA Finance function.My role was to lead a team of highly skilled and experienced RSA SMEs and consultants to deliver the UK Finance Systems transformation strategy, which is a key enabler of the wider UK Finance transformation.This involved- Designing and deploying a rapid BI reporting tool for Finance (QlikSense)- Consolidating and rationalising the UK Finance data model (COA, P&L and BS structure etc.)- Improving the timeliness and completeness of our automated data feeds- Implementing a data quality review and governance framework to improve the quality of reporting

Managing a team of 14 people responsible for• Developing and maintaining Finance IT systems (SAP, Cognos, Anaplan)• Leading business change integration and implementation • Data Quality and Data Solutions• Regulatory Reporting Systems (PRA & Solvency 2)• Management of >£1m annual change budget for FinanceDuring the period I managed the Finance Systems and Data Solutions Team I significantly developed the remit and the responsibility of the team and we were recognised as having contributed significantly to the overall Finance goals and strategy.

Secondment to lead a project team within Finance to deliver the implementation of a >£100m project to develop Personal lines products on our upstream policy admin systems.Role involved managing the design, testing and implementation of the project for Finance

Managed a team of 20 people providing core P&L reporting for RSA UK.• Developed a high performing team and ensured skilled resources were available at all times to meet service levels• Delivered all UK financial reporting requirements in accordance with group policies, regulatory requirements and agreed customer requirements & service level agreements• Managed a robust financial close process across the UK P&L reporting teams, ensuring compliance with s404 of Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOx), group policies and other regulatory requirements• Ensured stringent financial control and regulatory compliance. • Maintained an effective working relationship with external and internal audit• Implemented and monitored legislative and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
