Keith W. Schneider is a partner with Maguire Schneider Hassay, LLP and chair of the Firm’s litigation section. He is licensed in Ohio and Florida. Schneider has advised clients in matters involving labor and employment law, primarily in the defense of businesses in State and Federal courts against claims made by employees which extend to race, age, national origin and gender discrimination to retaliation claims. He regularly advises companies on wage and hour matters, Family and Medical Leave Act requirements. Schneider also counsels business with regard to class action implications in the employment arena and provides counsel relating to general or specialized leave policies, employment manuals, employment contracts, trade secret protection, non-competition/non-disclosure agreement, severance and settlement agreements, at-will employment, unemployment compensation claims/defenses, and general labor/management issues. His practice requires his appearance in State and Federal courts in Ohio and Florida and before the EEOC/OCRC and other regulatory bodies. Schneider’s practice also comprises professional liability defense ranging from negligence, ethics, licensing and malpractice claims brought against real estate agents, title agents, appraisers, doctors, dentists, nurses, and attorneys having broad experience before the regulatory and/or licensing bodies of each, namely, the Ohio Department of Insurance, Ohio Department of Commerce, Ohio State Medical Board, Dental, and Nursing Boards, and various disciplinary committees designated throughout the State of Ohio relating attorney ethics and courts in Ohio regarding malpractice. Schneider is designated on-panel counsel to several professional liability insurance providers and has over 25 years of first-chair practice in general civil and criminal defense litigation. He was president of the Columbus Bar Association 2014-2015.
