Assist students with virtually all aspects of the academic experience and provide information regarding campus resources as needed. Some specific responsibilities include but not limited to: assistance with goal setting, personal growth and career transition, selection of educational program, monitoring academic progress, clarify academic and institutional policies, assist with personal concerns, and help navigate campus environment, academic issues and financial matters. Builds safe fundamental relationships with students that garner mutual respect, trust and ethical behavior. Create, review and evaluate curriculum, training, programs and course evaluations along with aligning program goals. As adjunct I work collaboratively with faculty, administration and community partners to provide strategy for students through their educational navigation process. Present on how to prepare for position paper and colloquium. Review and grade all independent study and customized educational contracts.

Provide innovative teaching methods. Integrating 21st century leadership strategies focused on youth development, community service and media relations. Advocate for equity in policies and procedures. Design self-development programs to provide tools that empower and promote a healthy and productive life. Manage office resources, administration, planning events, creating innovative media tools and alternating task and duties in several roles and projects including Education, Project Coordination, Sales & Marketing, Community Service Advocate, Media Relations, and Youth Development Coordinator. Incorporate mentoring and coaching with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.

Provide operational leadership to the university’s one-stop student services center that provides services bridging registration, records, financial aid, student accounts, and the general university information line. Coordinate Gateway services with admissions, Dean of Students, colleges and academic advising offices. Serve as back up for escalated student issues. Deliver solid leadership to align and drive strategic goals forward around a “One Stop Shop” vision and mission. Provide over-all strategic and operational leadership and supervision for the Gateway operations. Partner with the colleagues on sustaining the university’s student communications and the division’s web presence. Lead quality improvement for the Gateway, including the strategic development and implementation of Gateway services throughout the university’s service area. Leverage technology, 21st century philosophy and staffing to deliver high quality, accessible student services. Lead on-going training and professional development efforts for Gateway staff and other related areas within the university as needed. Managing the unit’s data-driven approach to quality assurance, assessment and reporting requirements, including the development and implementation of a Gateway scorecard, service standards, and improvement plans.
