Reporting to the President of Consumer Premise Equipment (CPE), spearheaded a ~ $1B revenue business with an operational budget of $60M. Oversaw a global 350-person team focused on product development and product line management with operational elements in seven countries. Scope included management of overall P&L and budget along with pricing for a business with annual shipments of over 10M devices (approximately 75 products) delivered to a global customer base including major Tier 1 and 2 operators in North America, EMEA, CALA and Asia. • Managed video, data and wireless product portfolio as major profit engine for the company.• Launched 10 to 15 new products annually to keep active and growing portfolio.• Managed overall product development process and lifecycle with a strong cost reduction focus.• Worked with key suppliers and strategic partners on semiconductor, manufacturing and software strategies. • Product and design team responsibilities included embedded and networked software, hardware and creative industrial design while working with internal and external ODM/OEM partners.

Successfully completed integrations of acquisitions into Motorola (Kreatel Communications and Dahua (HMT)). Expanded the IP STB business to achieve a global market leadership position and significantly growing revenue of acquisitions. Transitioned software teams to implement agile development using “Scum” methodology.

Reporting to Senior Vice President/General Managers, led initiatives with key customers across the satellite, cable and broadcast industries to create products and services leveraging company strengths to create multiple businesses. Led teams working with Shaw (Canada) and Cablevision to launch satellite television businesses. Created business with Comcast Media Center (formerly TCI and AT&T) to launch HITS2HOME service.

Reporting to COO I lead the expansion and transformation of an engineering team into an R&D powerhouse which was largely responsible for the creation of the world’s first digital video consumer products.

Managed people, technology and operations for TRW’s Digital Development Lab. Developed analog and digital signal and data processing for advanced spacecraft payloads. The laboratory’s design activities spanned from system definition to detailed hardware design including custom VLSI and hybrid circuits for deployments on satellite and other spacecraft programs.

Systems engineering and research positions, eventually assuming overall program management leadership for a series of highly successful developments in the spacecraft/ground station electronics area. Projects involved a broad cross section of digital and RF electronics, software, mechanical design, manufacturing, ASIC design and algorithm development.
