My storyI’m an expert listener and communicator with more than 26 years’ experience of leading successful teams and devising and delivering award-winning strategies across private and public sector organisations.At 21, I was Iceland Frozen Foods’ youngest store manager running the UK’s first successful home delivery service.At 23, I retrained as a NCTJ-qualified newspaper journalist and worked as a senior news and politics reporter for the Peterborough Evening Telegraph.At 25, I left to lead on all communications, and later the continuous improvement function for Peterborough’s largest housing association, Cross Keys Homes during the stock transfer of 10,000 council homes.At 34, I set up my own communications consultancy leading on communications, stakeholder engagement and business transformation strategies for five different housing associations as well as the Financial Ombudsman Service, Pension Protection Fund, Gatwick Airport and Furniture Village.Today, I’m a lead consultant with a national strategic communications consultancy that specialises in the social housing and not-for-profit sectors. I advise senior teams on crisis communications management and lead strategic communications projects for housing associations, membership bodies, local authorities and community-based organisations.
