Founded by Ed Fries, the 1Up Fund aims to bring about community-driven changes to the industry through innovative and creative investments in the top indie teams working today.

Kelly founded and acted as CEO of Indie MEGABOOTH during an almost decade long tenure. The Indie MEGABOOTH created a globally curated community of indie game studios that participated in showcases, industry conversations and alumni scholarship programs. The IMB team consisted of 6-12 employees and contractors and managed annually up to 150 companies during showcases, submissions of up to 600 games a year and a robust alumni community of over 800 companies. Over 900 unique titles from studios spanning 36 countries were showcased at IMB events in 33 global events in the span of a decade. The Indie MEGABOOTH created a stepping stone into the games industry for emerging studios and individual creators which was supported by multiple grant programs, curated partnerships and community mentorship. Many well known indie titles and studios were discovered through the IMB community and networks, which in turn helped support the next generation of creators. IMB was independently owned, bootstrapped and was fully supported by sponsorships and community donations throughout the entirety of its active period.

The IGF is a highly esteemed festival dedicated to encouraging innovation and recognizing the best in independent games held at GDC each year. Kelly Wallick was the longest sitting Chair of the Independent Games Festival and first woman to hold the title.

Provided project management and managed multiple projects that focused on games and technical applications involving various technologies including equipment communication, 3D environments, and augmented reality applications; managed project management schedules both internal and external stakeholders. Managed internal and external teams varying in size including artists, developers, managers, account executives, and Chief Executive Officers. Perform quality assurance and troubleshooting for a variety of games and applications.

Managed research laboratory; developed and implemented lab design; planned, monitored research and development schedules; specified and procured equipment; maintained laboratory and equipment. Lead research projects through conception, design, experiment, data collection and analysis. Acted as a coordinator for OSHA compliance; managed safety, development, and waste management programs; ensured daily compliance and staff safety. Hosted investors and members of the board of directors for lab tours and research presentations.

Managed laboratory usage for staff and students; procured lab equipment; provided lab maintenance and repair; supervised staff and lead student research projects; assisted in optimization and implementation of experimental design; served as the Environmental Health and Safety officer for lab spaces.

Responsible for quality control chemical analysis including sample prep and data analysis; researched and developed sample preparation, analysis protocols, and equipment procurement; documented data analysis.
