As a member of the national Merrill Lynch Financial Advisor Training Program, I learned the Merrill Lynch system of goals-based wealth management, including planning for retirement, education, legacy, and other life goals through investment advice and guidance. In this training program, I successfully studied and passed the Series 7 securities licensing exam and studied for other securities training while being mentored to fulfill the role of Business Development on a Merrill Lynch Financial Advisor team.

Ahead of the wellness trend, I studied for a year to become a Certified Health Coach, presented workshops on health and nutrition in the community, worked one on one (or in groups) with individuals who are interested in improving their wellness and reaching their health goals (both in the individual and corporate environments) and dedicated my time and efforts towards improving the overall health of others through community projects (such as Live Well Greenville) – especially for women and children.

Hired as a consultant on a contract basis with local business owners and non-profit organizations (such as the Upcountry History Museum) and managers to improve their operations and achieve goals that are specific to their industry/type. Areas of focus included budget management/development; retail development, sourcing and design; staff training and identification; marketing; advertising and formulation of business plans.

Lifestyle Retail Store located in the heart of Downtown Greenville, SC.Developed, owned and operated a deluxe lifestyle shop for 12 years on Main Street in Downtown Greenville that carried a wide array of art, gifts, antiques, home furnishings, personal accessories and home décor. Saw double digit revenue growth each year for the first 10 years of operation. Liquidated the inventory and sold the real estate just prior to the US Financial Crisis in 2008/2009.

Executed all responsibilities required to run a small, local, non-profit arts organization in Greenville, SC in coordination with the Board of Directors and Artistic Director. Areas of responsibility included development/fundraising and implementation of strategic plans for fundraising, events and performances, marketing, advertising, Board of Director’s development, volunteer coordination, grants and public relations. Also handled the coordination of major performances and events held at the Peace Center for the Performing Arts (and other venues) which included development and management of contracts, ticket pricing/sales, patron management, public relations events and “front of the house” personnel/volunteer management.
