Planning• Site Operations Manual and Safety Certificate – Licensing procedures, contingency plans, risk assessments, capacities. Ensuring operations are complicit with the Safety Certificate. • Operations for multi sport and entertainment locations – horseracing, music concerts, shopping, charity events.• Traffic Management Plan - Liaising with the Local Authority, South West trains and the AA. • Access and Egress – Entrances, exits and emergency evacuation routes. • Crowd Flow – Circulation space, viewing and layout. • Temporary Infrastructure – Wet weather cover, barriers, trackway, marquees and big screens. • Public Catering – Food and Beverage outlets, specifications and location. • ICT Operations – IPTV systems, big screens, TV’s, Wi-Fi, external customer requirements. • Wayfinding Strategy – Signage provision, information points and documentation. Management • Performing a control function for all stakeholder groups to ensure their individual requirements are met. • Management of the Event department, ICT department and Human Resources.• Management of 1,000+ staff and contractors including recruitment and training to a nationally recognised qualification. • Supervision of Control Room operations including CCTV, radio operators and Safety Officer.• Responsible for a department budget of £10 million. Communication • Reporting to the Safety Advisory Group and Department of Culture, Media and Sport on operational readiness and changes. • Pre-event Briefing Documentation - Threat levels, expected crowd volume and staffing requirements. Lead during all event planning meetings and debriefs.• Event Day Briefings – Summary and updated briefing to Safety Officer, Police and Medic Representative, Staff supervisors and other relevant parties. • Principle contact for all Police Operational Teams, including Counter Terrorism, Royalty Protection and Firearms, Medical teams including British Red Cross, St John Ambulance.
