I am using my broad capabilities and deep industry knowledge for the important and necessary work of advancing diversity and inclusion in law firms, the legal profession, and beyond. I bring a unique mix of capabilities to my work: expertise in DEI, inclusive leadership, client relations, operations, and law firm management, including having served as Chief of Staff to the Chair of a top 50 global law firm. This gives me many tools and perspectives for guiding firms in developing and operationalizing DEI strategies, programs, and policies in unified ways.On a personal level, growing up mixed-race cultivated a life-long desire and ability to build bridges across differences. I bring that desire and ability to everything I do. This included using my educational pursuits in ethnic studies, law, and business to learn everything I could about what it takes to bring people together across differences in proactive, purposeful, and productive ways.In 2016, my brother Michael Brown and I started BSD (Brown Sons & Daughters), an inclusion strategy firm. We wanted to help organizations build more inclusive cultures through a focus on how leaders include people, and how they help people include each other. From how people learn and solve problems together, to how people build workplace practices and grow together. So we designed a simple, scalable inclusive leadership method called INCLUDE that helps leaders include people in ways that increase collective well-being, insight, and potential. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for BSD, while Michael delivers inclusive leadership programs teaching leaders how to use INCLUDE.
